A Prayer for Playfullness

A Prayer for Playfullness

A Prayer for Playfullness 1024 683 Andrew Hicks

If you are like me, there are moments in your work and life when you struggle to play. Here is a prayer I wrote to help me remember that I am made to play. I hope it helps you too.

God of the Giggles, help me to be silly.

Life is too serious to be too serious. Life is too short to be short with others.

Make me audaciously goofy. Make me courageously playful.

Teach me to dance to the tune of the dishwasher. Teach me to laugh with the loads in the laundry.

Show me how to stand-up to injustice with the stance of a comedian. Show me how to juggle a family with the precision of a circus clown.

God of the Giggles, help me to be like Little Girl Wisdom. Help me to play in the midst of your inhabited world to the praise of your glory.

In the name of the God of the Giggles: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Some things to brighten your day and help you to play:

Here is a link to a Google search for “pit weenie dogs.” Yes, that’s a real thing.

Here is a link to Miniclip. They have great games for free to play online. I recommend “Cheese Dreams” and “Off the Rails.”
