Revelation for Normal People

Revelation for Normal People

Revelation for Normal People 150 150 Andrew Hicks

I admit that the title of this post is a rip-off of the widely popular Podcast The Bible for Normal People. That podcast has featured episodes of multiple Biblical books “for normal people.” The cohosts, Jared Byas and Pete Enns, have published a few books with these titles: Genesis for Normal People and Exodus for Normal People. To my knowledge they have not done a podcast with the title I am using. If they have, I apologize.

This post is not a meditation or devotional on Revelation. I hope I might do something like that in the future though!

This post is a short list of devotional and easily accessible material on the book of Revelation that I have found extremely helpful in my personal studies. I hope this is beneficial to some:

Micheal Gorman, Reading Revelation Responsibly: Uncivil Worship and Witness: Following the Lamb into the New Creation.

Craig Koester, Revelation and the End of All Things, Second Edition.

Bruce Metzger, Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation, Updated Edition.

Eugene Peterson, Reversed Thunder: The Revelation of John and the Praying Imagination.

Full Disclosure

To put my biases on the table: I dislike labels, but I fit most easily into the categories of partial preterism and post-millennial.
