here are some things that i am thinking about, seeing, reading, listening to, etc.
this is curated by me, myself, and i. no AI or algorithms.
some things:
1. i just finished a fantastic book – “Healing What’s Within” by Chuck DeGroat. listen to the podcast to get a raw unedited rambling reflection by me about it: here. if you decide the book is worth reading let me know once you’ve read it and we could chat about it 🙂
2. speaking of podcasts, i listened to a great podcast this week that really moved me. it is by “No Small Endeavor” and the episode is an interview with Malcom Gladwell and Tracy K. Smith. Gladwell talked about “love bombing” his detractors and has hope for a better world: here.
3. speaking of speaking of podcasts, i have also been listening to several episodes of “Other People’s Problems” by Hillary McBride. the show lets you listen in on real therapy sessions to demystify counseling. highly recommend. check it out here.
4. i am totally stealing this basic format of things and links from a great group called Gravity Commons. they (wait for it) also have a podcast, but they also have a great community you can apply to join with a lot of great content. one of the things they do is give a list of “curated links” every week with various things they are reading and thinking about. thus, where i stole the idea for this format from. check them out here.
5. speaking of stealing, i stole the idea of stealing things from a master thief: Austin Kleon. his book “Steal Like an Artist” was a game changer for me. it’s a fun and easy read that might change your life forever: here.
6. Wesley Hargon. thats the recommendation. anything he makes is worth your time. look at his YouTube page: here. check out some of his music: here. i have found myself particularly moved lately by his song “i’m getting healed now.” here is the music video for it.
7. i have also been really into the feelings wheel lately. i use it with my patients sometimes. check it out here.
